Please note: Wood is a natural material, and the color, shade and grain of each board will vary. Without similar lighting, your board may appear darker than our pictures which were well lit during photography.
This board is food safe. There are no chemicals used in making this board. Each board is made from thermal ash, roasted in the kiln until they are rich and chocolatey brown. They will have a scent like woodsmoke or tobacco due to the charring process throughout the entire board which makes it a little more porous. After roasting, each board is treated with butcher block oil which extends the life of the board and helps to avoid cracking. (Any residue is the oil and the dark wood combined). Our butcher block oil has no chemicals and is all natural.
